Delhi Court Extends Bibhav Kumar's Judicial Custody in Swati Maliwal Assault Case

NEW DELHI: A Delhi court has extended Bibhav Kumar's judicial custody until July 16 in connection with the alleged assault of Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. Kumar, a close aide to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, faced this decision at the Tis Hazari court through video conferencing.

The case stems from accusations that Kumar assaulted Swati Maliwal at the CM's official residence on May 13. Following his arrest on May 18, Kumar was initially remanded to police custody for five days. The FIR filed on May 16 against him lists charges including criminal intimidation, assault on a woman with intent to disrobe, and attempted culpable homicide under the Indian Penal Code.
