New Delhi: The corona situation in Delhi is still under control as restrictions are still continuing in many parts of the country due to the corona epidemic. In view of this, Delhi Disaster Management Authority has allowed the opening of shrines for devotees. As a result, they will have to strictly follow corona guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOP).
The DDMA has formally issued an order in this regard on Friday. The order said that religious places will be allowed to be opened to visitors and devotees, provided the rules issued by the Health Ministry and corona friendly behaviour are followed. The orders will remain in force till midnight of October 15 or till further orders, whichever is earlier.
In Delhi, religious places have been closed to devotees for more than five months since April 19 due to a lockdown caused by the second wave of coronavirus. Now DDMA has allowed the entry of devotees to religious places but the order has banned large gatherings. As per the order, collectors and deputy commissioners of police have also been directed to ensure strict compliance of corona-appropriate behaviour in view of the upcoming festivals. The authority in its new Corona guideline has said that fairs, food stalls, swings, rallies and processions will not be allowed due to festivals in Delhi.
