Pawan Verma, a senior Janata Dal-United leader, and party general secretary has opposed CM Nitish Kumar. Pawan has given this statement while opposing the alliance of the party with the BJP for the Delhi elections of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. In a letter written to Nitish Kumar, Verma has raised questions on this alliance. In a letter to the Chief Minister, Pawan said that he is in a dilemma about this alliance and Nitish Kumar should clarify his views on BJP and CAA-NPR-NRC.

If these are your real views, then I fail to understand how JDU is now expanding its alliance with BJP beyond Bihar, when the Akali Dal, a long-time BJP ally, has refused to do so.

Varma made his letter public in a tweet saying that he is asking Nitish Kumar how JDU has aligned with BJP for Delhi elections. He also asked that he clarify his views on BJP. In the letter, Verma has reminded his party president how when he formally left the Indian Foreign Service in the first meeting in 2012, he asked him for a long and firm conviction about Narendra Modi and his policies. Verma wrote in the letter how Nitish Kumar talked about RSS Mukt Bharat.
