Agriculture Law: Farmer leaders reach Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi, meeting begins with Union Ministers

New Delhi: Representatives of farmers' organizations who took to the streets in protest of agricultural laws brought by the Central government have reached Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi today to hold talks with Union ministers. They will discuss issues related to these laws as well as some other issues. Before leaving for Delhi from the protest venue to talk to the Central government on farmers' issues, he said that he wanted to talk to the government on all the problems related to farmers.

About 36 farmer leaders will hold talks with Union ministers at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi. 30 of them are from Punjab. However, he says that the main issues that will remain during the talks include withdrawal of all three new agricultural laws as well as the demand for minimum support price (MSP) guarantee. The farmers want to discuss the issues related to power subsidy and withdrawal of heavy penalties and imprisonment on the farmers in the Parali Dahan Ordinance.

Farmers Organization demanding to withdraw three new agricultural laws, Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Simplification) Act 2020, Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Act 2020 and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act 2020, brought by the Modi government. He says that the benefit of these laws will not be to the farmers, but to the corporate.
