New Delhi: More than 300 sharpshooters have been deployed for Eid, Rakshabandhan, and Independence Day in the national capital, Delhi after tanky alerts and intelligence input. Not only this, about 12 thousand additional personnel including 12 company paramilitary forces on the ground will take over the security of Delhi city through drones in the sky on all festivals.

Police Commissioner SN Srivastava has reviewed the security arrangements in all the districts through video conferencing. In this regard, the Commissioner of Police Shrivastava has said that all the DCPs have been instructed to intensify patrolling in their areas and do door-to-door verification. He emphasized on the increasing deployment of police to strengthen counter-terrorism measures, intensive and related investigation at sensitive locations, verification of tenants and servants, monitoring of many people including cyber café owners, security guards, old car dealers, and mobile dealers.

Srivastava said that under the notification of the Ministry of Home Affairs, it would be necessary to follow the security measures while organizing various programs or activities for the Independence Day celebrations. Instructions include maintaining social distancing, wearing masks, proper hygiene, avoiding large gatherings, looking after sick persons, and following all Covid-19 guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Home Affairs.
