New Delhi: The drinking water supply in the national capital may be affected for the next 3 days due to the low water level of the river Yamuna. The Delhi Jal Board has said that the water supply will be affected for the next three days from Thursday. In a statement, the Delhi Jal Board blamed the Haryana government. The Delhi Jal Board alleged that less water is being released into the River Yamuna by Haryana. Due to which the water level of the river Yamuna has fallen.

According to media reports, the Delhi Jal Board said drinking water supply will remain affected in north, south, central, west Delhi, cantonment area, and New Delhi Municipal Council area for the next three days. The board said Wazirabad, Chandrawal, and Okhla water treatment plants have been badly affected due to lack of water level in river Yamuna. This has happened only because less water is being released into the River Yamuna.

According to the Delhi Jal Board, the water level in Wazirabad Pond has now remained at just 667.2 feet as compared to the normal water level of 674.5 feet. Drinking water problems can increase till the water level in the Wazirabad pond is normal.
