New Delhi: The bail pleas of six other accused, including former Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Umar Khalid, accused in the 2020 anti-Hindu riots in the national capital, were heard in a Delhi court on Thursday. Meanwhile, public prosecutor Amit Prasad told the court about the conspiracy of Muslims that witnesses have testified that the accused wanted to create a separate country for Muslims. Because of this, they conspired to incite violence.

The public prosecutor told the bench of Additional Sessions, Judge Amitabh Rawat, during the bail hearing issued on February 3 that he had records of witnesses in which one of the accused had said that a "separate country for Muslims" has to be created. The SPP said there is nothing vague about it now. During the hearing, the public prosecutor produced another statement of a professor named Dr Apoorvanand, in which he had stated before the magistrate that the accused in the Delhi riots had allegedly said that the government has to bend and, Hindu-Muslim. Along with this, Prasad placed before the court the recorded statement of another witness named Victor. In which it was written, 'Many,' In Chand Bagh ''Hindus have to be eliminated'' slogans were raised. The Public Prosecutor pointed out that there is now enough evidence to take action against the accused under the UAPA Act and sedition. SPP Amit Prasad told the court, "No need for all the accused to play roles in every part of the conspiracy. When there is an agreement between people, they become agents of each other.'' He told the court that many people were reporting to Umar Khalid from rioting sites.

We have shown to Court that there is a statement deposed before the Magistrate which says “Musalmano ka alag desh banana hai” and thus, there is enough to suggest an offences under #UAPA and sedition: Prosecutor #DelhiRiots

At the same time, the prosecutor also said that former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillor Tahir Hussain is among the accused. He is also accused of blackening white money to incite anti-Hindu riots in Delhi. Earlier on Wednesday, public prosecutor Amit Prasad had said that a witness had said in his statement that sticks, stones, red chillies and acid were collected for the protest. To which Amit Prasad asked, "After all, what can be the use of sticks, rods and red chillies in a peaceful protest?"

Funding came was from terrorist organisation. There are evidences of Tahir Hussain converting money from white to black. It is a very unusual thing, we have complete chain of evidence. Why was it needed to convert money to black? This money went to sites: Prosecutor #delhiriots

Amit Prasad told the Karkardooma court that there was funding from terror outfits to incite riots in Delhi. There is also evidence of Tahir Hussain's money being black to white. It's very unusual that we have a whole chain of evidence. Why do you need to blackout the money? The money went to the sites. With this, Amit Prasad confirmed this before the magistrate, 'Some of the money for the protest used to come from Jamia, some terrorists used to give.' Prasad also pointed out that Meeran Haider, a student of Jamia Millia Islamia University, was funded by NGO 'Nai Shiksha Kalyan Sangathan,' one of the accused in the Delhi riots. However, the court has decided that it will hear the matter next week. Along with this, the public prosecutor also presented several other shreds of evidence opposing Umar Khalid's bail plea. Last year, Umar Khalid himself admitted to his allegations that he had played a key role in organising Muslim organisations.
