Delhi Police arrests mastermind of Republic Day violence case, Deep Sidhu

New Delhi: Today has entered the 76th day of the farmers' movement in Delhi against the new agricultural laws of the central government. Meanwhile, Delhi Police has arrested Deep Sidhu, the mastermind of the Delhi violence that took place on Republic Day. On February 3, Delhi Police had announced a reward of one lakh on four people including Deep Sidhu, Jugraj Singh.

These people were involved in hoisting the religious flag on the Red Fort and inciting people to violence. Deep Sidhu has been arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police. Since 26 January, the main accused Deep Sidhu was on the run. However, except for Deep, former gangster Lakkha Sidhana and Jugraj, who hoisted the flag at the Red Fort, are still being reported as absconders. Delhi Police has also released pictures of around 50 people who perpetrated the violence.

The Delhi Police had registered a case under sedition and UAPA for blaming and rioting on the Red Fort. Delhi Police Special Cell is investigating the case. Violence took place during the tractor parade of farmers on Republic Day in the country's capital. The protesters also entered the Red Fort and placed a religious flag on the flag pillar there.
