NEW DELHI: In a significant stride towards narrowing the education gap between the affluent and underprivileged in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) proudly announced on Monday the successful enhancement of government schools in the region. He pledged to redevelop all Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) schools within the next five to seven years, emphasizing the government's commitment to creating a superior educational infrastructure.

Kejriwal made these remarks during the inauguration ceremony of the Sarvodaya Co-ed school in Libaspur village. Delighted by the remarkable facilities offered by the institution, he highlighted the fact that the classrooms, laboratories, library, and halls surpassed the standards of even the most prestigious private schools in Delhi.

In the past, government schools in Delhi were plagued by deplorable conditions. Classes were conducted within makeshift tents, and dilapidated ceilings were a common sight. The lack of basic amenities such as toilets and drinking water posed severe challenges for students. However, the AAP government has successfully bridged the gap between the rich and the poor by revolutionizing education in Delhi.

"Previously, the state of government schools in Delhi was appalling," Kejriwal acknowledged. "However, the AAP government has effectively transformed the education landscape, ensuring that all children, regardless of their background, have access to quality education."

He further highlighted the AAP government's ongoing efforts to improve the state of MCD schools. "Our focus has shifted towards the redevelopment of MCD schools, a process that will require dedicated efforts over the next five to seven years," Kejriwal explained. "Additionally, we recognize the need to address the issue of educated individuals who are currently unemployed. Therefore, we will prioritize the creation of job opportunities for the youth."

By prioritizing the redevelopment of MCD schools, the AAP government aims to create an environment that fosters academic excellence and empowers students from all walks of life. Kejriwal's commitment to the educational upliftment of Delhi's youth is a testament to his vision for a more inclusive and prosperous society. With sustained efforts and a comprehensive approach, the transformation of the education system in Delhi is well underway.
