The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forewarned of an imminent spell of dense fog enveloping the majority of Bihar over the next two days. A yellow alert has been raised in several districts starting from Friday.

Due to recent rainfall across various parts of Bihar, an anticipated dense fog is expected to shroud 33 districts, excluding Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Munger, Banka, and Jamuni, as per the latest bulletin from the India Meteorological Department.

The State Disaster Management Department has issued a fog alert effective until 8:30 am on December 10.

The 'Yellow' alert indicates a cautionary advisory, signifying the likelihood of moderate to dense fog.

IMD has outlined the fog intensity levels: 'very dense' when visibility is between 0 and 50 meters, 'dense' when it ranges from 51 to 200 meters, 'moderate' when visibility is between 201 and 500 meters, and 'shallow' between 501 and 1,000 meters.

In the wake of cyclone Michaung, several Bihar districts experienced moderate rainfall on Thursday.

The Meteorological office predicts a possibility of light rain or snowfall at isolated spots in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir from December 12 to 15.

The weather is anticipated to remain generally cloudy but predominantly dry until December 11, with a projected drop in nighttime temperatures.

Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 9.4 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 25.7 degrees Celsius, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). The forecast for the capital includes mainly clear skies with mist or shallow fog in the mornings, expected to persist until December 12. IMD further predicts no rainfall in the National Capital Region until December 12.

IMD reports isolated heavy rainfall prospects over Kerala and Tamil Nadu on December 9. Chennai's IMD has forecasted heavy rain in select areas of Nilgiris and Ghat regions of Coimbatore district. Additionally, thunderstorms and lightning are likely in one or two spots across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal region until December 9.
