Srinagar: Indian cricket star batsman and former captain of the team Mahendra Singh Dhoni has joined the Army as Lieutenant Colonel (Honorary Title). MS Dhoni, who holds the title of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army, will be in Kashmir with Para Army Bataliyan from July 31 to August 15. The 38-year-old MS Dhoni will be deployed as Victor Force in Kashmir with 106 Territorial Army Battalion (PARA) unit from July 31 to August 15.

Dhoni will have to do patrolling and guard duty. He will then stay with the soldiers. MS Dhoni will be with the Army for about two months, in which he will be given 15 days of patrolling and guard duty like an Army jawan. Team India will soon be on tour to the West Indies for which the team has been announced. Dhoni, on the other hand, has not described himself as available for the tour.
