Chennai: Former Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP KP Ramalingam joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday. He was suspended from the party by MK Alagiri in March this year. KP Ramalingam considered the right-hand man of MK Alagiri, also said that he would try to bring the DMK leader to the BJP.

KP Ramalingam joined the party in the presence of BJP state in-charge CT Ravi and BJP state unit president L Murugan. During this time, Pon Radhakrishnan and H Raja were also present with BJP leaders. KP Ramalingam was suspended from DMK in March this year as a disciplinary action. This action was taken on Ramalingam for making a statement against the proposal given by MK Stalin on the issue of Corona epidemic.

After joining BJP, KP Ramalingam said that he will try to include MK Stalin's brother MK Alagiri in BJP. He said, "I have close relations with MK Alagiri. I will try to bring him to the Bharatiya Janata Party." KP Ramalingam said that he will work towards strengthening the BJP.
