New Delhi: Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan has taken over as chairman of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization (WHO) amidst the fight against the Ko Rona virus epidemic. He completed all the formalities at the WHO office in Delhi. Earlier, the post was held by Japanese doctor Hiroki Nakatani, who was the chairman of the 34-member board.

Let us tell you that there is a war on the coronavirus worldwide. In such a situation, Dr. Harshvardhan will play an important role in this fight with Corona. After assuming office, Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that I know that I am entering this office in the hour of global epidemic. There will be many health challenges in the coming 2 decades. We will all fight together against these challenges. Earlier, Harsh Vardhan, who filed for India in the World Health Assembly of 194 countries, was elected unopposed.

Let us tell you that the South East Asia Group of WHO had unanimously decided last year that India be elected to the Executive Board for a three-year term. The post of chairman of the board is given to different groups in many countries on a one-year basis. Last year it was determined that the post would remain with India for the next one year.
