Tirupati:After the rail congestion was stopped during the lockdown period to supply milk to the national capital New Delhi, the Operation of Doronto special milk trains of Indian Railways to ensure regular milk supply to the capital on March 26 has been launched. These special trains - since then, have been able to transport 40 million litres of milk.

From over 3000 combination points spread across 13000 villages in Chittoor district and its surroundings, the development board (NDDB) collects milk and regularly transports milk from Renigunta to 2300 km to the capital by Doronto Special trains in 34 hours. So far, Dodh Doranto has successfully operated about 167 trips of special trains from Renigunta to the national capital. South Central Railway General Manager Gajanan Mallya praised the continuous efforts of guntakal railway division employees and officials to achieve this rare feat.
