The country's top runner Dutti Chand has been selected for the Arjuna Award. Dutti is very happy after being selected for this prestigious award in the field of sports and her spirits have also increased. She has said that personal best is not enough to make it to Tokyo, but she says that being selected for the Arjuna Award will inspire her to achieve the difficult 'Olympic qualification mark'.

24-year-old Dutti was selected for the Arjuna Award on Friday along with twenty-six other players. In the 2018 Asian Games, the silver medalist of both the hundred meters and two hundred meters had a personal best performance of 11.22 seconds which she achieved last year. Dutti had qualified for the Rio Olympics by 11.11 seconds 'qualifying mark' but this time it was 11.15 seconds.

Dutti said "This award has been received at the right time. Regarding your performance and achievements by the government in any way always increases the confidence of the player". He said, "This will give me the strength increase my efforts for the Olympics and my confidence will increase. I hope to qualify for my second Olympics in Tokyo next year and do well in Tokyo". Dutti further said, "It will be difficult but I am sure that I can achieve it. This award will strengthen my efforts".
