EAM meets Ex Mauritian PM Ramgoolam after his Health recovery

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar on Thursday met with former Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam, who was flown to India a month ago for treatment for Covid-19.

The former Mauritian Prime Minister was under treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences for Covid complications. He was discharged two weeks ago.

In triple tweets, External Affairs Minister conveyed which reads: “Pleased to meet former Mauritius PM Navinchandra Ramgoolam”, ““Glad to see that he has recovered fully” and “Value his strong support for our exceptional relationship.” 

The Mauritian leader was evacuated on a special flight from Port Louis, that was equipped with emergency medical equipment. According to media reports, Ramgoolam was brought to the national capital on an aircraft equipped with emergency medical set up and medicines including a ventilator, oxygen cylinders and a special isolation pod to shift the patient. Three doctors and a paramedic were also present on board, the reports added.
