NEW DELHI: The Election Commission of India (EC) is set  to announce the election schedule for the Gujarat Assembly today afternoon, November 3.

The poll panel will reveal the election schedule at a press conference that will start at noon. After the official election notification is published, the Model Code of Conduct will take effect throughout the state.

Gujarat is most likely to have two rounds of voting in the first week of December.

On February 18, 2023, the 182-member Gujarat legislative Assembly's term will come to an end.

When the Commission released the dates for the Himachal Pradesh elections, it did not previously disclose the Gujarat election calendar. The Himachal Pradesh Assembly election will be held on November 12 in a single phase, with results being tallied on December 8. This was announced by the commission on October 14.

The poll panel has not yet made the Gujarat elections' dates public at that time. According to the poll panel, some people must wait longer for the results to be announced when several state polls are announced at once.
In Gujarat's 2017 Assembly elections, the BJP came out on top.

Making it a triangular competition is AAP's goal: Aam Aadmi Party is working really hard to establish itself in Gujarat as well after its enormous triumph in the Punjab assembly elections. Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the AAP, has been visiting Gujarat frequently and promised the electorate of the state free electricity and water. He also hopes that his "Delhi model" will dent the support of the BJP and Congress.

AAP is the only political party that controls at least two states' governments besides the BJP and the Congress. AAP currently controls the governments of Punjab and Delhi.
