NEW DELHI: Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez was once more called in by the Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on Monday for questioning in connection with the Rs 200 crore extortion-cum-cheating case involving multimillionaire conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.

The EOW interrogated Jacqueline about the matter for more than eight hours on Wednesday. According to sources, the EOW has called the actress again after finding inconsistencies in several of her prior comments. In order to clarify the contradictions, the EOW had also questioned Pinky Irani, a Chandrashekhar assistant, and Nora Fatehi, another well-known figure from Bollywood, on Thursday.

The ED chargesheet claims that Jacqueline was aware of Chandrashekhar's involvement in illegal operations but decided to ignore them and engaged in financial dealings with the con artist.

Chandrashekhar was detained for allegedly defrauding and extorting money from a number of prominent people, including Aditi Singh, the wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh. The Enforcement Directorate has questioned numerous Bollywood actors and models on their suspected connections to Chandrashekhar.

Chandrashekhar was detained in April of last year in connection with another money-laundering case involving the 2017 Election Commission bribery scandal, which is said to have included a former AIADMK leader among others.
