Good news for migrant laborers, Finance Minister's big announcement about employment

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday made a big announcement about the migrant labors returning back to rural areas during the fifth and final phase announcements related to the Rs 20 lakh crore economic package. Sitharaman announced an additional 40 thousand crore rupees for the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). This will help these migrant workers returning home with employment and boost the rural economy.

Announcing this in his statement, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, "So many migrant laborers are going to their villages, so we have made some provisions so that if they also want to join the MNREGA, they can enroll." The government will now allocate an additional Rs 40,000 for the MNREGA.

For your information, let us tell you that under the Finance Minister's MNREGA, today's announcements will create 300 crore man-days of employment. Earlier, in the budget (Budget 2020-21), the central government had made a provision of giving 61 thousand crores under MNREGA. The same, during the second day announcements related to the package, Sitharaman had earlier said that in the last two months, 10 thousand crores have been spent in generating 14.62 crore man-days of work under the MGNREGA and 2.33 crore people till May 13 Work Offered He told that this work has been provided in 1.87 lakh gram panchayats.
