Shimla: While polling is being held on 68 seats in Himachal Pradesh today, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief and former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti has attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Election Commission (ECI). He has said that the Election Commission is a branch of the BJP itself. BJP is doing communal politics in Himachal and other parts of the country, but the Election Commission is silent on this.

According to the report, Mehbooba Mufti said that earlier our country was proud of the Election Commission, but now the Election Commission has become just a puppet of the BJP. He said that only when the BJP gives a green signal to the Election Commission, elections will be announced in Jammu and Kashmir as well. Mehbooba Mufti said that the present government is obstructing everything here. Kashmiri Pandits have been demanding for so long that till the situation in Kashmir gets better, they should be shifted to Jammu, but they (government) stop income and ration.

Mehbooba Mufti further said that BJP uses its struggle to get votes. The Election Commission of India has now become a branch of the BJP. It remains silent. The Election Commission is no longer as independent as before. The Election Commission has conducted the election only at the behest of the BJP.
