Chennai: In Tamil Nadu, the Vellore Lok Sabha seat will go to the polls on the 5th of next month. The seat has been taken up by the ruling party and the main opposition DMK. The leaders of both parties are abandoning their ideology and engaged in the state of sweets and halwa. While the AIADMK is distributing sweets to target the DMK, the DMK is using halwa in its response.
The election to the Vellore Lok Sabha seat was canceled. This was followed by voting in 38 out of 39 seats in the Lok Sabha elections held on April 18. While the DMK and its allies had won 37 of the 38 seats, the AIADMK suffered a tremendous defeat, winning only one seat.
The AIADMK had then alleged that the DMK had won by cheating the votes. According to the election schedule released by the Election Commission, voting will be held in Vellore Lok Sabha constituency on the 5th of next month. The polling in this seat was canceled due to the large quantity of illegal money seized in Vellore Parliamentary constituency during the Lok Sabha elections.
Voting will be held on the 9th of next month. After the election to this seat, the number of elected members in the Lok Sabha will be equal to 543.
