In UP, preparations for the elections of 11 seats of the Legislative Council (MLC) in the field of graduates and teachers in April, have been intensified. In the Legislative Council, 6 seats are for the teacher constituency and 5 seats for graduate election. The tenure of the existing Legislative Council members on these 11 seats ends on May 6 this year. Before these elections are to be held.

On the instructions of the Central Election Commission, preparations have been intensified for elections in all these 11 seats. The state's Chief Electoral Officer office has updated the voter list of all these 11 seats on January 28. The Bharatiya Janata Party will field candidates for the first time in the election of the teacher constituency. The commission will issue a notification in March for this election. MLC Kanti Singh is presently from Lucknow block graduate constituency. A total of 312171 voters on this seat will elect a new MLC in the election to be held in April. Kedarnath Singh is MLC from the Varanasi division graduate constituency. A total of 207039 voters will choose a new MLC in this election.

Dr. Asim Yadav is currently MLC from Agra Graduate Constituency. There are now a total of 281672 voters on this seat. Hem Singh Pundir is MLC from Meerut Graduate Constituency. There are a total of 296159 graduate voters in this seat's updated voter list. Umesh Dwivedi is currently a member of the Legislative Council from Lucknow Teachers Constituency. A total of 28915 voters have been updated on this seat. Chet Narayan Singh is currently MLC from Varanasi Block Teacher Constituency. A total of 32640 voters have been made on this seat.
