Companies have declared a loss of two thousand crore rupees in the rate hike petition. Due to this, it includes losses in fuel costs and recovery in electricity bill, but due to the agar and joura by-elections, the state government does not want electricity to be costlier for the general domestic consumers. Last year, the Electricity Regulatory Commission had approved the increase in electricity prices at the rate of 9.4 percent. Along with this, the high-ranking officials of the Energy Department also do not agree with the proposed price increase. It says that the growth of last year is expected to increase the income of the power companies by more than 27 hundred crore rupees, in such a situation there is no reason to increase the price again.

At the same time, 80 percent of consumers within the scope of 150 units are taking advantage of cheap electricity.
