Raipur: The use of foreign coal in power generation has made electricity expensive. In Chhattisgarh, the price of electricity has increased by 30 paise per unit. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that due to the policies of the central government, the price of electricity has increased. Electricity rates may become more expensive in the next few months. Instead of Rs 3,000-4,000 per tonne, coal imported from abroad will produce electricity from Rs 15,000-18,000 per tonne, and then the cost of production will increase.

In Raipur, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel attacked the Center and the BJP and said that hundreds of passengers are cancelling trains, yet coal is not being supplied. The coal mines in this country are not able to supply coal from it. Due to this, the central government is importing coal from abroad. The coal here is 3 to 4 thousand rupees a tonne. Outside coal is coming in at Rs 15,000-18,000 per tonne. Due to this, power generation has become expensive.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that the electricity rate has increased slightly. It will go further. When you buy coal at Rs 18,000 per tonne, electricity will be costlier again. The increase in the cost of production will only increase the price of electricity. The CM asked that if all the power plants of NTPC increase the power rate, then the price of electricity will not increase in the state? Be prepared now and now. When its effect comes completely, the electricity bill will increase further.
