Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Waseem Shah killed and the other killed militant has been identified as Nisar Ahmed Mir

Two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants, as well as top commander Waseem Shah, were today killed in Pulwama encounter with security forces of Jammu and Kashmir.

Security forces initiated an operation in Litter area of Pulwama early morning following information is given about the presence of the militants in the area, a police official said.

The militants opened fire on security forces that were given as good as they get by the law enforcement personnel, he said.

Other most wanted militants in Kashmir now include such as Al Qaida’s Zakir Musa, Hizbul Mujahideen chief Riyaz Naikoo, Hizbul Mujahideen’s Saddam Padder and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s Zeenat-ul-Islam.

Security forces have in current months stepped up the concentrated effort of terrorist and militant officers; with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh saying at least five terrorists are counteracted in Jammu and Kashmir “every day”.

On October 11, two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants were taken life in an encounter in Bandipora district. Two Guard Commandos of the Indian Air Force achieved martyrdom in the operation. The militants were acknowledged as Ali alias Abu Maaz, a Pakistani militant, and Nasrullah Mir, a local militant.
