This woman, who looks ingenuous before the President, is not really an ordinary woman, this 72-year-old tribal environmentalist Tulsi Gowda is known as the People's Encyclopedia of Forest, who was awarded the Padma Shri award on Monday for her incredible contribution to the protection of nature.

Barefoot and dressed in traditional tribal attire, she received India's fourth-highest civilian award from President Ram Nath Kovind during a ceremony in New Delhi. Tulsi Gowda, who belongs to a Halakki indigenous tribe in Karnataka, grew up in a poor and deprived family. She never received a formal education, but still, today she is known as the 'Encyclopedia of the Forest.' She got this name because of her vast knowledge of diverse species of plants and herbs. At the young age of 12, she planted and raised thousands of trees. Tulsi Gowda also joined the forest department as a temporary volunteer where she was identified for her dedication to nature conservation, after which she was offered a permanent job in the department.

Success is not really a source of resources and prosperity, it needs only passion and enthusiasm, which is encoded in Tusli Gowda. Even the ordinary person can't block the way if anyone is determined to do anything.  You are an inspiration to all of us, Tulsi Ji.
