Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, reaffirmed the Western powers' commitment to assist Ukraine against Russian President Vladimir Putin's war on Thursday.
Leyen discussed Russia's invasion of Ukraine with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, as well as the need to enhance cooperation on raw minerals.
"My friend @JustinTrudeau made a great call. In opposing Putin's war, the Europeon -Union and Canada are completely together. We are collaborating to help Ukraine. We also talked about the EU's plans to become independent of Russian oil, gas, and coal. The EU and Canada will improve their raw materials cooperation "The European Commission's President sent out a tweet.
Trudeau met with the President of the European Commission last month and emphasised that Russia's activities undermine peace and order in Europe and around the world, are flagrant violations of international law, and will not be accepted. President von der Leyen and Prime Minister Trudeau decided to keep working closely together with friends and partners to impose heavy consequences on Russia.
