Kanpur: As everyone is currently battling a covid infection, the Zika virus is also showing its havoc. The bottom line is that 3 cities in Uttar Pradesh have been hit by Zika virus infection.  These include Kanpur, Kannauj and Lucknow. Kanpur has seen a total of 123 cases of the Zika virus. Kanpur Chief Medical Officer Dr Nepal Singh has said that out of 123 cases of Zika, 37 have now been reported negative. That means 37 people are now fine while 86 cases are still active. All these patients are currently being treated. He has said that the surveillance team has completed door-to-door surveillance activity in 1,49,408 houses. The sampling team has taken 4,675 samples so far.

It has been revealed that the ever-increasing cases of the Zika virus have caused a stir among health ministry employees. In cities where Zika cases have been seen, they are being more careful. At the same time, the administration has also been alerted.

A total of 123 Zika positive cases have been reported so far in the Kanpur district out of which 86 are active cases. The surveillance team has completed door-to-door surveillance activity in 1,49,408 houses. The sampling team has taken 4,675 samples so far, two cases of Zika virus infection have been seen recently in Lucknow, the capital of UP. While a case of the Zika virus was also reported in the Kannauj district. The man who has been confirmed to have the Zika virus is 45 years old. He was staying in the Kasamau village in the Shivrajpur area of Kanpur. In this case, 30 samples were sent for action by the Ministry of Health, Kannauj. After which the victim's investigation report has come positive. The administration has become quite cautious after the matter came to light.
