Corona wreaking havoc in Bihar, Nitish government under questions over lockdown

The increasing speed of COVID 19 in Bihar has worried the state government, more than one thousand new patients are getting every day, due to which the state government is preparing for complete lockdown once again. On Tuesday, the government has called a meeting of high officials. There will be a review of growing epidemic cases in the state and final approval will be made on lockdown.

In the last few days, cases of corona have increased rapidly at the state level. In the month of June, where the speed of getting positive cases in one day was two to two and a half hundred, it caught pace in the month of July. This speed has now reached 11 hundred to 12 hundred cases daily. In view of the ever-increasing cases, on July 7, Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar discussed through video conference with the District Magistrates and ordered that the DM should assess the growing case of the epidemic in their area and decide on partial lockdown on the basis of need. After the order of the Chief Secretary, Bhagalpur was first implemented, followed by a partial lockdown in Patna from July 10. The next day, a partial lockdown was imposed in about 15 districts.

Now the government has decided to take drastic steps regarding lockdown. The government is negotiating the entire lockdown in the state. Today, on Tuesday, this point will be discussed with the officials. After this, the lockdown can be imposed simultaneously in the entire state. On giving this information, the state chief secretary Deepak Kumar said that the government is considering complete lockdown. No final decision will be taken in this matter till Tuesday.
