The F1 team officially tweeted a member has been tested positive for COVID-19. "We can confirm that a team member has tested positive for COVID-19. This has been handled and is being handled in line with FIA protocols, working closely with the FIA," the team wrote on Twitter. However no detail about the team member has been revealed.

Hamilton was chasing a record-equaling 91st win two weeks ago in Russia spoiled by the penalty is to be attempted again in Germany. The set back is the climatic condition, rain is likely on all three days and temperatures on race day may not reach 10 degrees. Formula One is back at the Nürburgring, since 2013 and is called the Eifel Grand Prix named after a nearby mountain range. Mick Schumacher, 21, takes over Antonio Giovinazzi's Alfa Romeo for the first practice on Friday taking him another step closer to a full F1 drive. Mick Schumacher has said he sees his father as his idol, but he's been keen to forge his own path. He started out in kart racing under the surname Betsch, his mother's maiden name. Mick Schumacher's F2 title rival, Callum Ilott, also drives his first official F1 session on Friday, borrowing Romain Grosjean's Haas.

The junior Schumacher is what F1 needs to regain its popularity in Germany. Hamilton and Michael Schumacher last raced together at the Nürburgring in 2011, there were six Germans on the grid that time including then-world champion Sebastian Vettel. He will be the only German in Sunday's race with four titles already. Surprisingly, only two Germans have made their debut in F1 in the last decade. André Lotterer had a one-race cameo in 2014, and Pascal Wehrlein occasionally showed promise in 2016 and 2017.
