Social media giant Facebook has removed 15 fake accounts associated with Brazilian President Bolsonaro. Facebook on Wednesday said it had canceled dozens of accounts involving supporters or employees of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro as part of an investigation into spreading false online news. Nathaniel Gleicher, head of Facebook's cyber security policy, has revealed in a statement that 73 Facebook and Instagram accounts, 14 pages and one group have been removed.

This time the Brazilian courts are investigating to spread false news regarding Bolsonaro. There is no immediate comment from the Brazilian President's Office about any action from Facebook. The Facebook executive said in his statement that all of these fake accounts were linked to the Social Liberal Party, which Bolsonaro left after winning the 2018 presidential election last year and that the president's staff, his two sons, Sen. Flavio Bolsonaro and Congressman Ludero Bolsonaro, and two other MLAs were also involved. However, it has not been investigated as yet.

Nathaniel Gleicher said in a statement that the network included a number of active activities that relied on a combination of duplicate and fake accounts, some of which were detected and disabled by our automated systems. To avoid enforcement, create imaginary personalities posing as journalists, post content and management. It is constantly being investigated by Facebook. But it is not definitely confirmed who is involved in it.
