Patna: A fake doctor was working in a reputed private hospital in Bihar for almost two and a half years. According to the report, the name of this hospital is Paras Hospital, which is located in the capital Patna and the fake doctor has been identified as Mohammad Shamim Farooqui. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against Mohammad Shamim, revealing that his degree is fake. According to reports, Mohammad Shamim Farooqui is originally a resident of Lalbagh area of Darbhanga district of Bihar. He took admission for medical studies in Kathmandu University of Nepal. However, he did not get a degree due to failure. Despite this, he made a fake degree and also sat for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination. This exam is necessary in India for doctors studying abroad. But, Shamim also failed in this examination. He then collected documents of another passer, Mohammad Javed, and made a fake certificate. On this certificate, he started working in Paras Hospital.

Interestingly, shamim was handling the emergency ward of Paras Hospital even after being a fake doctor.

In December 2022, the CBI had exposed 74 fake doctors from across the country. The CBI had registered an FIR against all these fake doctors. Mohammad Shamim Farooqui's name was also included in this list. However, the management of Paras Hospital was not aware of this. On May 10, 2023, the CBI informed the hospital about Shamim's veracity. After this, the hospital immediately fired him from the job and lodged an FIR in the local police station. Along with this, the documents submitted by him to the hospital for the job have also been handed over to the police. Mohammad Shamim Farooqui has absconded since the case was registered. The police are looking for him.
