12-year-old girl raped, body found lying near railway track

Chandigarh: A 12-year-old girl living in a slum in Haryana's Faridabad's Sector 4 was raped and murdered on Thursday night. To make the incident look like an accident, the accused threw the girl's body on the railway track after the brutality. Doctors have sent the viscera of the deceased to Rohtak for examination. Police have registered a case of murder, Pocso Act and other sections against the unidentified accused.  

The family has told the police that at around 9 pm on Thursday, the deceased left home saying that she was going to defecate on the railway line located near the slum. When she did not return home about half an hour later, a search was launched for her. Around 9.30 pm, she was seen lying on the railway track. There were injury marks on several parts of her body. There was also a lot of blood flowing from her body. Her clothes were messy. According to the family, the girl had died.  

The matter was immediately reported to the local police through the police helpline number. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and sent the body to BK Hospital for post-mortem. On the complaint of the family, the police have registered a case of murder, Pocso Act and other sections and started an investigation. Police are searching for the accused.
