Varanasi: National Conference (NC) National President and former CM Farooq's pain has spilled after PM Narendra Modi launched the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor in Varanasi today (December 13). He said PM Modi should also give importance to other religions as he is the Prime Minister of the entire country and not of one religion. Farooq also supported Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who described India's partition as a historic mistake.

Terming the partition of India as a historic mistake, he supported Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's statement and said that it has suffered not only Kashmiris but Muslims all over the country. He said that if this country had been one, there would have been a strength, no more difficulties and there would have been brotherhood in the country. Farooq said the dispute between India and Pakistan leads to increased religious tensions in the country.

Farooq Abdullah congratulated the reconstruction of Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the grand event held in Varanasi and termed it as a good thing. He said PM Modi should also give importance to other religions as he is the Prime Minister of the whole of India and not just one religion. There are a lot of religions in India.
