NEW DELHI: The highly awaited competition, set to take place from November 29 to December 10 in Santiago, Chile, was confirmed by the organising committee of the FIH Junior Women's Hockey World Cup 2023 on Thursday night. In order to heighten the anticipation for the major event, the FIH also unveiled the new Junior Women's World Rankings, which place India at number six and the Netherlands at number one. The United States is ranked fifth, followed by Argentina, Germany, England, and the United Kingdom. India is the top-ranked team in the continental rankings, which must be acknowledged.

The Belgian, Canadian, and German teams were placed in Pool C with the Indian Team. India will begin their campaign on November 29 against Canada before facing Germany on December 1. On December 2, the Indian team will play Belgium in their third and final Pool encounter. Indian Junior Women's Hockey Team will attend the FIH Junior Women's World Cup 2023 full on confidence and attempt to win the coveted trophy for the first time in the tournament's history after recently winning the Women's Junior Asia Cup 2023 in Japan.

Notably, India just missed out on the bronze medal at the most recent FIH Junior Women's Hockey World Cup after falling to England 2(0)-2(3) in the match for the quarterfinal and semifinal spots. Women's Junior Asia Cup 2023 champion Captain Preeti commented on the Pools revelation, saying, "We are happy to see the Pools for the World Cup unveiled. As we prepare to compete against some of the top junior teams worldwide, it's an exciting time for our team.
