New Delhi: The Delhi Police is investigating the role of JNU student Omar Khalid on charges of plotting the riots in the capital in February. According to the report, an inflammatory speech by Omar Khalid is being investigated. Police can soon interrogate Khalid in this regard. On March 6, the crime branch of Delhi Police had already registered a case against Omar Khalid alleging a conspiracy of violence.

Under this FIR, Special Cell is investigating the role of Omar Khalid in the riots that broke out in Delhi. Khalid as well as the media in-charge of Jamia Coordination Committee, Safura Zargar, has been cracked under the UAPA on charges of hatching a conspiracy in the Delhi riots. The FIR states that the riots that broke out in north-east Delhi on February 23, 24 and 25 were under a pre-planned conspiracy. The conspiracy to spread this violence was hatched by JNU alumnus Omar Khalid and his associates, who belong to different organizations. Umar Khalid gave provocative speeches at two different places under this conspiracy, they are being investigated.

The police have claimed in the FIR that Delhi's anti-Hindu riots were the result of a pre-planned conspiracy hatched by Omar Khalid and his two other associates.
