Fire breaks out at Delhi's rubber factory, 3 killed, several injured

NEW DELHI: A massive fire broke out at a rubber factory in Shahdara's Jhilmil Industrial Area in the national capital. Three persons were killed and several others injured in the incident. Police said, the fire in the four-storey building has been under control for the past four hours. 26 fire tenders have reached the spot.

Many people are still feared to be trapped in the house. However, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. The dead include two women and a man. The deceased man was also reported to be the factory supervisor, who is said to be the owner of the factory. The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police said the factory used to make bombs. Police have so far confirmed the death of three people, while locals say at least five people have been killed. Police said 12 people were present at the factory when they came to extinguish the fire. Police have confirmed the evacuation of nine people. Police say three men went upstairs instead of going out and got trapped.
