New Delhi: Another incident of firing against protesters against the CAA (Amended Citizenship Act) is happening in Jamia. Late Sunday night, two unidentified scooty riding youths opened fire on the protesting students at Gate number 5 of Jamia Islamia. There has been no report of any casualty in this, but there is panic among the people and there is chaos in the whole place. This case happened in the night until the scooter riders had escaped before the protesting students could understand anything.

After this incident, the students laid siege to the Jamianagar police station and demanded to arrest the shooters. While giving information on the incident, Kumar Dnyanesh, additional DCP from South East Delhi, said, "SHO of Jamia Nagar along with his team reached the spot and investigated. They did not find any kiosks there. When people were asked, they were all giving different answers. Everyone was talking about a different attacker's car, some were telling about the attacker that when the unknown attacker came on a scooter, some said that he had come from the car." He said that the entire matter will be investigated and action will be taken as per law.

After the complaint of this case was filed, some of the protesting students returned. Students also informed that the two young men driving Scooty were wearing red jackets and the number of scooty is 1532. As soon as the police came to know about the incident, they reached there with the police force. The Jamia Coordination Committee said that two unidentified people had opened fire near Gate number 5 and confirmed the incident. No one has been informed of the shock. Students and demonstrators have written letters to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Election Commission, Ministry of Home Affairs and Human Rights Commission for this incident. In this letter, it has been told that it is the responsibility of Delhi Police to provide security to the people who are performing in a peaceful manner and take strict action against those who resort to violence against it. Such an incident has already happened which was fired on Jamia on 30 January by a young man and after this, on February 1, another incident was seen in Shaheen Bagh, which was also firing, again yesterday firing news on Jamia's Gate number 5.
