Five people, including a priest of Talakaveri, have gone missing due to landslide on the Brahmagiri hill due to heavy rains in Kodagu district of Karnataka. Rescue team have reached the spot and started the relief work but due to rain, they are facing difficulties.

According to officials of the Kodagu district administration, heavy rains last night at Talakaveri in Bhagmandal led to landslides on the Brahmagiri hills. And two of the temple's priests have been buried. A release issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Kodagu said: "According to the information received by the rescue team, one priest had vacated the residence and shifted to Bhagamandal while the other priests were staying with their family on the hill."

The release stated, "Information has been received that five people living there residence are missing. Priest Narayan Achar (around 80 years), his wife Shanta (around 70 years), elder brother Anandathirtha Swamy (around 86 years) and two assistant priests Pawan and Ravi Kiran are missing. The district's modern rescue teams have reached the spot". According to official sources, after the landslide on the Brahmagiri hill, the officers asked the priest to vacate the residence. He did not leave the house. When the temple employee reached the Preist's house in the morning, he informed others about the landslide and then the search operation for the priest and his family started.
