Patna: Many parts of the country are reeling under floods these days. Rail operations in Samastipur are being affected due to flood water. Flood water from the Bagmati river came on bridge number 16 near Hayaghat station of Samastipur railway division. Due to this, train movement on the Samastipur-Darbhanga railway line remained suspended for the third day. 14 passenger and intercity express trains have been canceled due to waterlogging. Also, the route of some trains has also been diverted.

Senior DCM Saraswati Chandra informed that the 02565/66 Bihar Sampark Express train will run via Sitamarhi Narkatiaganj till further orders. On the other hand, 01061/62 Pawan Express will be short terminated at Muzaffarpur and operated from Muzaffarpur. 04673/74 Shaheed Express will operate from Samastipur station. Railways have said that passengers who want to cancel their journey can get tickets refunded.
