KIEV – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock discussed cooperation in the Normandy model to resolve the Ukraine problem, according to Interfax-Ukraine.

Kuleba said diplomats are presently preparing for meetings of the advisors of the Normandy format, a four-party diplomatic group consisting of Ukraine, Russia, Germany, and France, in Berlin, at a meeting after their talks.  "It is not easy to prepare for the conference in Berlin. However, we are striving to ensure that conversations at the level of Normandy format advisers continue, at least beyond the Berlin summit "Reporters were briefed by Ukraine's Foreign Minister.

 

Baerbock, for one, considers the fact that advisers are continuing to negotiate inside the Normandy structure a "success." "We will not, of course, publish the agenda in the press. However, we shall speak in a safe and trustworthy environment "he said.

On February 10, the advisors to Ukraine's, Russia's, Germany's, and France's leaders will meet in Berlin. The Normandy four advisors met in Paris on January 26 and reached an agreement on a joint statement, the first since December 2019.
