Bhopal: In Madhya Pradesh, the state government provides financial help for the marriage of daughters of weaker sections. A total of 51 thousand rupees are given to the beneficiary as help. The objective of Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana is to provide financial assistance for the marriage of a marriageable girl/widow/abandonment of the family of the poor, needy, destitute families and of the beneficiaries registered under the schemes of labor cadre.

Who is eligible:-

The guardian of the girl child should be a native of Madhya Pradesh. Along with this, she should be 18 years for the girl and 21 years for the man. The name of the daughter should be registered on the marriage portal. Widow, legally divorced and economically weaker destitute women who want to remarry are also eligible.

Get this benefit:-

For the establishment of the household of the girls, Rs 48,000 is deposited in the girl's account. There is a provision to provide three thousand rupees i.e. a total of 51 thousand to the body organizing mass marriage program like urban body, Janpad Panchayat for the reimbursement of marriage.

Here is the process:-

The application in the prescribed application form has to be submitted along with necessary records to the office of the Gram Panchayat/Janpad Panchayat in a rural area, Municipal Corporation/ Municipality/Municipal Council in the urban area. You can download the form related to this scheme by visiting the official website (http://socialjustice.mp.gov.in) of Social Justice and Disabled Welfare Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
