GUANGZHOU: Linsanity in China- Ex-NBA champion Jeremy Lin has signed a contract with the Guangzhou Loong Lions to play in the new Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season, the club said on Monday.

"I'm overjoyed to be a part of the Loong Lions. I can't wait to see you on the court this upcoming season "said Lin.

In his NBA career, Lin averaged 11.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists. In 2012, during the "Linsanity" era with the New York Knicks, the Harvard graduate rose to international fame. With the Toronto Raptors in 2018, he became the first Asian-American to win an NBA championship. In his first two CBA seasons, Lin averaged 19 points per game with the Beijing Ducks.

The club stated in a statement, "We hope Lin will quickly adjust to playing in our system and create a good basis for the upcoming season.

The Loong Lions had their greatest record in club history last year and advanced to the CBA playoffs. Jordan Bell, another NBA champion, was signed by Guangzhou last month, it was revealed. Bell and Lin will significantly strengthen the team.
