Ashok Saraf is celebrating his 75th birthday today. Hearing his name, you will be reminded of the name of that superhit serial of the 90s. Which people have not been able to get out of their hearts even after 25 years. The name of this serial is 'Hum Paanch' which dominated the small screen for about 9 years. In which people still remember the character of Anand Mathur. The person who brought the character to life is Ashok Saraf. Who made the whole world proud with his acting from the small screen to the big screen.

Ashok Saraf was born on June 4, 1947, in Nagpur. He is known as 'Mama' in the Marathi film industry. Ashosh Saraf entered the film industry in the 60s. He is a great actor of Marathi cinema. He has done more than 250 Marathi films. He started his film career with the Marathi film 'Janaki' in the year 1969. Ashok Saraf has given a different identity to Marathi theatre by working in Marathi plays like Hamidbai's Kothi, Unofficial, Manomilan, Hey Ram Cardiogram, Darling Darling, Sarkhan Chest Pain Ray. Artists like Ashutosh Rana, Nana Patekar, also bow their heads in front of Ashok Saraf.

Ashok Saraf has mesmerized people with his  performances in television's popular serials 'Don't Wari Ho Jayega', 'Hum Paanch', Professor Pyarelal. Apart from this, Ashok Saraf is also very active in Bollywood. He has done films like 'Singham', Karan-Arjun, Yes Boss, Jodi No. 1, Koyla.
