NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has rebutted Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel's assertion that he would miss the G20 dinner scheduled for Saturday due to airspace constraints in and around Delhi. The MHA has clarified that the movement of governors and chief ministers on their respective state aircraft is not prohibited.

In a series of tweets, the MHA Spokesperson stated, "In a recent news report, Chief Minister Chhattisgarh expressed his inability to attend the G20 Dinner at the Leaders' Summit in Delhi on September 9, 2023, citing airspace restrictions in and around Delhi."

The Spokesperson further added, "The MHA has communicated to the state that although a sophisticated security air cover has been deployed for the G20 Leaders' Summit in Delhi from September 8 to 11, 2023, the movement of Governors and State Chief Ministers on their state aircraft is permitted."

This clarification from the MHA comes in response to media reports suggesting that Chief Minister Baghel might not attend the G20 dinner hosted by the President due to the absence of non-scheduled flights in and out of Delhi, attributed to security measures for the G20 Summit taking place over the weekend.
