NEW DELHI: A major treat is in store for television watchers in the New Year, specifically on Saturday, when Gautam Adani, the third-richest person in the world, will take the hot seat on Rajat Sharma's "Aap Ki Adalat."
Gautam Adani will be replying to a lot of questions from the inimitable TV icon, who will be returning with new episodes of his longest-running Televison show.
Adani, who typically shies away from one-on-one TV appearances, has consented to appear on the programme as a guest. He will respond to a number of challenging questions from Sharma about scandals involving his corporate group.
There is already a lot of conversation on social media about how Adani will respond to the charges brought against him by rivals and opposition figures. As D-Day approaches, audiences' anticipation for this episode has understandably reached fever pitch.
Adani's name was at the top of the wish list when Sharma invited viewers to pick the top celebrities they would like to see on new episodes of "Aap Ki Adalat" last month.
The list also includes the names of several additional well-known people who will appear in "Aap Ki Adalat" as it continues in the upcoming weeks with new episodes. Top cricketers, politicians, godmen, and Bollywood celebs are on the wish list.
More than 1,000 well-known people have appeared on "Aap Ki Adalat" since its debut in 1993 and have sat in its dock. None could evade Sharma's penetrating questions, which were always delivered with a grin but with absolute precision, whether they were directed at prominent politicians, movie stars, professional athletes, well-known singers, or spiritual gurus.
Presidents, Prime Ministers, Cabinet Ministers, and Chief Ministers are among the illustrious guests on his renowned show. Only "Aap Ki Adalat" has the distinction of bringing all three Bollywood Khans to the same stage at once.
No other show in the Indian TV industry allows eminent guests to so openly share their true feelings, weaknesses, and unfiltered viewpoints. Another plus is that fans from countries like the US and the UAE can now watch "Aap Ki Adalat" on India TV.
