We all know that as rainfall has increased in Hyderabad, the cases of dangue and malaria have also increased. The multifaceted approach adopted by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has helped with extensive pesticide drives due to the Covid-19 epidemic to control seasonal diseases, especially this year recording a significant decline in dengue and malaria cases in the city. It is raining in the city during the monsoon.

It should be noted here that the number of cases this year is less compared to the previous year. As of September last year, 1,726 dengue cases were reported in the city, with 226 cases falling this year. In all respects, the 10 AM 10-minute initiative launched by Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao has had a good impact on clearing the water in the homes, which is one of the main sources of seasonal diseases, said the GHMC chief, Dr Rambabu.

However, unlike last year, as per the orders of the MA & UD Minister, the health calendar was created and action was taken accordingly. He said it would have a good effect on controlling seasonal diseases, especially dengue and malaria cases. The Municipal Corporation is taking weekly anti-larval operations (ALO) with 642 teams under the Pinpoint Program (PPP) in domestic and peri-domestic mosquito breeding resources (door to door) covering an average of 100,000 households every day.
