Bhopal: Shivraj government has taken a big decision on Tuesday for the farmers of Madhya Pradesh. In the meeting of the Shivraj cabinet held at Mantralaya, it has been decided to waive off the interest of the defaulter farmers. Lakhs of farmers will benefit from this decision. Before the elections, this decision is being considered very important. State Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra informed the media about the decisions of the cabinet.

Narottam Mishra told that now the government will pay the debt of 11 lakh 19 thousand farmers of Madhya Pradesh. The Shivraj government has taken a big decision to waive interest of Rs 2123 crore for these farmers. Madhya Pradesh government will pay this interest. Along with this, it has also been decided to increase the date of purchase of wheat for the farmers from May 10 to May 20. Along with Narottam Mishra, Cooperative Minister Arvind Singh Bhadoria and Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel were also present. He told that a grand conference of farmers is going to be held in Bhopal on May 25. The application form for this scheme will be started from May 13. 

On May 12, the list of defaulter farmers will be pasted in the offices of the Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society. The claim-objection will be tested from May 16 to 18. The interest amount will be transferred to the district cooperative central banks on May 22. Those farmers who will not be able to apply during this period will remain eligible for the scheme till 30 November 2023 and will be able to apply. After the interest waiver, the farmers will also be given a defaulter-free certificate from the government committees. From June 1, eligible farmers will start receiving fertilizers and seeds from cooperative societies.
