Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh is trying to save pottery from extinction and employ them through the Mati Kala Board for potters. For this, cheaper loans will now be provided by training potters. According to Navneet Sehgal, principal secretary of Khadi Village Industries, the government is considering to promote pottery after a complete ban on plastics.

That is why there is a plan to train and encourage workers related to Mati art. Sehgal has pointed out how many pottery makers are being surveyed. This will identify who is involved in this art. In the survey, we are also investigating whether they have any soil removal system. If not, they will be allotted the lease first.

Sehgal informed that the potters will be trained along with leasing of soil mining. A toolkit will also be provided to the potters in the coming time. In addition, the Government will fully support the marketing of potter's products. According to the principal secretary, leases of soil excavation will be provided in ponds for raw materials in the districts.
