Google is preparing to add a new feature to its search app that will allow users to access incognito mode quickly. This new shortcut has been seen in a beta version of the Google app, which is available exclusively for Android smartphones. Along with this, the option to remove labels from the banner has also been added in this update. This change has come after a recent report said that Google may stop continuously scrolling search results on mobile and desktop platforms.
New Incognito Mode shortcut
Android Authority has spotted a new shortcut in the new beta version 15.26.34.29.arm64 of the Google app. Through this shortcut, users can now see a new "Chrome Incognito" option above the keyboard by tapping on the search box. This new feature will help users switch to incognito mode faster, making them more convenient than before. Earlier, users had to tap on the profile picture in the top right corner of the screen to switch to incognito mode and then select the Incognito tab under the account.
New look of Home tab
This update also introduces a new look for the home tab of the Google app. Earlier, labels like Home, Search and Saved were visible, but now these labels have been hidden and only icons are shown. This has made the interface more simple and user-friendly.
Circle to Search Feature
A new feature is also being added to the Google app called "Circle to Search". This feature is a visual lookup tool powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI). Through this, users can scan any QR code or barcode that appears on the screen. This feature has been seen in the beta version of the Google app and allows users to access it easily. Although these new settings and features are available in the beta update of the Google app, some users are having difficulty accessing them. It may be that these features are being rolled out under server-side updates. These updates from Google are another step towards giving a better experience to the users of the app.
